There are three engine options: 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V-6 engine with 240 horsepower and 420 lb.-ft. of torque that gets 29 mpg, 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine with 305 horsepower and 269 lb.-ft. of torque that gets 25 mpg, and 5.7-liter HEMI® V-8 with variable-valve timing (VVT) with 395 horsepower and 410 lb.-ft. of torque that gets provides up to 22 mpg. Regardless of which engine is chosen it comes with an eight-speed automatic transmission. There is also a rotary knob on the instrument panel instead of a shift lever. The standard drivetrain on all the trucks are 2WD, but the 4WD system is available in two different styles. The two systems are one with a part-time system with manual mode selection and the other with an Auto 4WD mode that automatically switching between rear- and four-wheel drive. Both 4WD systems have a two-speed transfer case with a low-range gearing. The towing capability for the V6 is up to 7,610 pounds, the diesel V6 is up to 9,210, and the V8 can tow up to 10,640. The maximum payload for the V6 is up to 1,890 pounds, the diesel V6 is up to 1,600, and the V8 is up to 1,800 pounds.
